KATHMANDU, Oct 9: The incessant rain of last week damaged two micro hydropower projects in Baglung district, disrupting electricity supply to around 10,000 households.

KATHMANDU, Oct 9: The incessant rain of last week damaged two micro hydropower projects in Baglung district, disrupting electricity supply to around 10,000 households.


The flood and landslide triggered by the heavy rainfall affected two power houses of Nisi Khola hydropower projects in the district. Chairman of Nisikhola Rural Municipality Surya Bahadur Gharti said the electricity supply has been disrupted for the past five days.

According to Gharti, locals of ward number 3, 4 and 5 of the rural municipality are compelled to stay in the dark while a number of small and cottage industries in the region have been shut due to disruption in electricity supply in the region.
