KATHMANDU, Feb 16: The interview of the shortlisted candidates for the position of Vice-Chancellor of Tribhuvan University (TU) will be held on February 18.
The interview of 14 Vice-Chancellor candidates who participated in the short-list presentation as per the 'Tribhuvan University Vice-Chancellor Selection and Recommendation Procedure' approved by the Vice-Chancellor Selection and Recommendation Committee of TU, has been scheduled on February 18 in two shifts.

According to the spokesperson for the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology, Shiva Kumar Sapkota, Kushum Shakya, Keshar Jung Baral, Gobinda Subedi, Chitra Bahadur Budhathoki, Gyanendra Prasad Paudel, Tanknath Dhamala, Tirtha Raj Khaniya will be interviewed in the 8:30 AM shift.
Similarly, Narayan Prasad Belbase, Prakash Ghimire, Bhojraj Aryal, Mahendra Prasad Sharma, Ram Chandra Basnet, Shiva Lal Bhusal and Surya Bahadur Thapa will be interviewed in the 11 AM shift.
A total of 43 individuals, including two women, applied for the post of Vice-Chancellor of TU. Among them, 14 people including one woman have been shortlisted.
"The concept papers and professional action plans of the candidates shortlisted have been submitted," Spokesperson Sapkota told Republica. He added, "Now, the recommendation committee has further advanced the work of selecting a team to conduct interviews by forming subcommittees comprising nationally and internationally renowned educators who have earned fame through study and research at senior, national, and international levels."
According to him, the shortlisted candidates will be interviewed by a team of experts. He said, “TU will have a vice-chancellor by the last week of February."
