KATHMANDU, Nov 1: The hydropower group of Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse) on Tuesday gained a notable 83.82 points, after going into a slump for the past three months.
Last time, the group’s index reached the maximum of 2,641.22 points on August 3. However, it fell successively over the time after the overall market underwent the bearish trend.

On Tuesday, the group opened for trading at 1,917.52 points, while it closed at 2,001.34 points. Due to an increasing attraction of the investors in shares of hydropower companies, it gained 4.37 percent in its average market value.
Out of 10 topmost gainers, seven were hydropower companies. Nyadi Hydropower gained 10 percent in its share price, the topmost of all. The authority enforced circuit break on trading of the company’s shares due to excess hike in its market price.
The share price of Universal Power Company also increased nine percent, while those of Union Hydropower, Mountain Hydro Nepal and Dibyashwori Hydropower Company increased more than eight percent.
