KATHMANDU, March 6: The Janata Samajwadi Party (JSP) has declared its reluctance to immediately participate in the government.
The party stated that it will abstain from participating in the government unless the continuity of the current leadership of Madhesh Province government is ensured.

The party’s executive meeting held today, which aimed to finalize the retention of the Chief Minister in Madhesh Province, faced challenges in reaching a consensus on whether the party should join the government. A majority of the executive members suggested to party Chairman Upendra Yadav against joining the government.
The key condition set by the JSP is that the current leadership of the Madhesh Provincial government should be allowed to continue. At present, the JSP leads the provincial government in Madhesh Province
Executive member Bijay Yadav said that the meeting held today failed to reach a conclusive decision on joining the government. The final decision will now rest with the political committee, which will determine whether the JSP will remain part of the government or not.
JSP Chairman Upendra Yadav has formally signed the eight-point agreement formulated by the four participating parties.
