Judicial Council expels High Court Judge Shah

KATHMANDU, July 9: A meeting of the Judicial Council on Friday decided to expel a judge serving at Butwal Bench of High Court Tulsipur, Renuka Sah. 


A meeting presided over by Acting Chief Justice Deepak Kumar Karki decided to expel Judge Sah. Judicial Council Spokesperson Man Bahadur Karki informed Republica that Judge Sah was relieved from the post for not meeting qualifications.

Sah, daughter of former Chief Justice Ramkumar Prasad Sah, had long been serving at Council for Technical Education and Vocational Training (CTEVT) and she was not qualified to become Judge, the Council sources said. 


The meeting decided to publish a seven-day notice for fulfilling the vacant post of the judge. The notice will be published on coming Monday as per the decision made by the Judicial Council.
