Renuka Sah asks: Why am I being targeted?

KATHMANDU, July 15: Ousted judge Renuka Sah of the Butwal bench of Tulsipur High Court, who was sacked for the lack of qualifications, said that the law minister had taken revenge against her father and former chief justice Ram Kumar Prasad Sah. The Judicial Council dismissed Judge Renuka Sah of the Butwal Bench of the Tulsipur High Court on July 9, saying that she was not qualified for the post.

KATHMANDU, July 15: Ousted judge Renuka Sah of the Butwal bench of Tulsipur High Court, who was sacked for the lack of qualifications, said that the law minister had taken revenge against her father and former chief justice Ram Kumar Prasad Sah. The Judicial Council dismissed Judge Renuka Sah of the Butwal Bench of the Tulsipur High Court on July 9, saying that she was not qualified for the post.


"Ever since the new law minister was appointed, he has come with a sense of revenge," she said, "Who is the target of revenge, why am I being targeted?"

She said that the law minister has been taking decisions by going beyond the constitution and the law. Sah said that she had submitted all necessary documents and alleged that the law minister had taken revenge with her for publicity. She said that she had worked as a judge for four years and that the law minister has not yet given the reason for dismissing her.


Sah, who was appointed to the High Court on April 3, 2019,, was dismissed saying that she had not completed 10 years of continuous advocacy. Acting Chief Justice Deepak Kumar Karki sacked her on the recommendation of the Judicial Council Secretariat on the charge that she did not meet the eligibility criteria to be appointed as a judge.
