Kaski to enforce week-long prohibitory order from April 28

POKHARA, April 27: The District Administration Office (DAO) of Kaski has decided to enforce a week-long prohibitory order from Wednesday. The number of infections in Pokhara has been increasing day by day. Over 40 cases of the coronavirus infection were found in the week of mid-April which has now increased to over 150 cases.

POKHARA, April 27: The District Administration Office (DAO) of Kaski has decided to enforce a week-long prohibitory order from Wednesday. The number of infections in Pokhara has been increasing day by day. Over 40 cases of the coronavirus infection were found in the week of mid-April which has now increased to over 150 cases.


The second wave of the coronavirus has created a bad situation in areas across the Indian borders. The administration office announced to enforce prohibitory orders for a week on Monday evening in order to spread alertness and awareness of the coronavirus in Pokhara. As stated by the administration, the public should be alert for themselves and the prohibitory order is believed to play a supporting role in minimizing the spread of infection.

According to the Chief District Officer Thaneswor Gautam, all examinations of educational institutions like universities, colleges, and schools, training centers will be postponed. Similarly, cinema halls, party palaces, dance houses, clubs, dance bars, fun parks, stadiums, play grounds, gyms, fitness centers, SPA, swimming pools, beauty parlors, salons, tailors and footpath stalls have been ordered to close their businesses as long as the prohibitory orders will be in place.


Marriages, bartabandas and other cultural programs also cannot be conducted in party palaces or hotels. While conducting such ceremonies at home, strict measures will have to be taken in order to prevent the gathering of more than 15 people. However, shops selling medicines and health supplies will be open 24 hours a day.


According to the district administration, shops selling daily essentials and construction materials will be allowed to operate from 5AM to 8PM. Services provided by the government and non-governmental offices will not be provided except for services related to health, security, communications, electricity, drinking water, medicines and productions of medical items and the sales and distribution of such services, as mentioned by the government. Also, the odd-even rule will be implemented for the operation of public and private vehicles.
