Kathmandu District Court allows police to detain Secretary Pandey for three days for investigation

KATHMANDU, May 3: Tek Narayan Pandey, Secretary of the Office of the Vice President, has been allowed to be detained for three days by the District Court, Kathmandu.

KATHMANDU, May 3: Tek Narayan Pandey, Secretary of the Office of the Vice President, has been allowed to be detained for three days by the District Court, Kathmandu.


Pandey, who was arrested on charges of helping to take fake Bhutanese refugees to the USA, was allowed to be detained for three days by the Kathmandu District Court on Wednesday.

After an arrest warrant was issued against him on Tuesday, he himself appeared at the  District Police Range, Kathmandu on Wednesday.


Pandey was the Home Secretary before being transferred to the Vice President’s Office. It is said that he colluded with a gang that helped to proceed with the documentation of Nepalis as Bhutanese refugees when he was the Secretary at the Ministry of Home Affairs.
