District Court allows police to detain Sandeep Rayamajhi for three days

KATHMANDU, May 4: The Kathmandu District Court has allowed the police to keep Sandeep Rayamajhi, son of CPN-UML Secretary and former minister Top Bahadur Rayamajhi, in detention for three days for investigation into the fake Bhutanese refugees scam.

KATHMANDU, May 4: The Kathmandu District Court has allowed the police to keep Sandeep Rayamajhi, son of CPN-UML Secretary and former minister Top Bahadur Rayamajhi, in detention for three days for investigation into the fake Bhutanese refugees scam.


The police produced Rayamajhi in the court on Thursday and got the court’s approval to detain him for three days for the investigation into the scam.

An arrest warrant was issued against Rayamajhi on Wednesday. He was arrested from Butwal on the same day and was brought to Kathmandu on Thursday morning by a Buddha Air flight.


Both father and son are accused of being involved in frauding Nepalis on the pretext of sending them to the US as Bhutanese refugees.
