Kathmandu faces power outages in selected areas for distribution line upgrades

KATHMANDU, May 5: Residents in certain areas of Kathmandu will experience power cuts lasting four hours for six consecutive days starting today.

KATHMANDU, May 5: Residents in certain areas of Kathmandu will experience power cuts lasting four hours for six consecutive days starting today.


Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) has announced that electricity supply will be suspended from May 5 (Sunday) until May 10 to facilitate the undergrounding of electricity distribution lines.

Affected areas include those serviced by the Kuleshwor, Kirtipur, and Jorpati distribution centers.


The NEA has specified that the power supply will be halted from 11 AM to 3 PM each day during this six-day period.
