Kathmandu Valley alone recorded 859 new cases of COVID-19 and four new deaths in past 24 hours

So far 14,938 people in the Valley have been diagnosed with the novel coronavirus disease while 95 of them have died of it


KATHMANDU, Sept 18:  As many as 859 new cases of COVID-19 were recorded in the Kathmandu Valley alone in the past 24 hours, taking the Valley's COVID-19 tally to 14,938.

According to the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP), 698 new cases in Kathmandu, 82 in Bhaktapur and 79 in Lalitpur were detected on Friday.


Likewise, four people succumbed to COVID-19 in the past 24 hours, taking the Valley’s COVID-19 death toll to 95. Of the death cases recorded on Friday, two were from Kathmandu and one each were from Bhaktapur and Lalitpur districts. 


In the meantime, Nepal witnessed the highest single day spike of 2,020 new cases in the past 24 hours.
