KMC cracks down on street flower vendors ahead of Lakxmi Puja

KATHMANDU, Nov 12: The Kathmandu Metropolitan City police have removed the flowers of those selling flowers on the streets in the Asan-New Road area.


As today is Laxmi Puja, there is a crowd of people buying goods in the market. Since morning, people are reaching the Asan-Indra Chowk-New Road area to buy flowers.

To streamline flower sales, the metropolis has designated four authorized locations for flower vendors. Consequently, the metropolitan police confiscated flowers from sellers operating on the streets and footpaths in the Indrachowk area.


Kathmandu Metropolitan City, Nepal Floriculture Association and Nepal Chamber of Commerce have jointly arranged to put flowers for sale at concessional rates of near Bhrikutimandap, Airport-Tinkune, Handigaun and Balaju Valley Cold Store in Kathmandu.
