KMC to cancel contract with Kathmandu View Tower Construction Company

KATHMANDU, July 12: Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) is to cancel the contract with Kathmandu View Tower construction Company, citing the company has not forwarded works even after one year after the agreement.

KATHMANDU, July 12: Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) is to cancel the contract with Kathmandu View Tower construction Company, citing the company has not forwarded works even after one year after the agreement. 


KMC Spokesperson Gyanendra Karki said that the KMC is going to cancel the contract of the construction company, Jaleshwor Swochchhanda Bikoi Builders Pvt Ltd, after the construction company failed to submit progress details of the view tower that it has been constructing at old bus park in Kathmandu.

Karki said that although the KMC had asked the construction company to submit progress details of the construction carried out so far two months ago, it did not submit the progress details. 

He said the neither the construction company has submitted the progress details, nor the contractor has come in contact with the KMC. 


Earlier, the KMC had also warned the construction company to carry out works in a regular manner. An agreement was signed between the KMC and construction company on March 5, 2016 to complete the construction work of the view tower within two years. The 12-storey view tower is being constructed at the cost of Rs 3.5 billion. RSS
