Koshi and Madhesh provinces receiving rain with thunder today

KATHMANDU, March 26: Rain accompanied by thunder is currently occurring in several areas of Koshi and Madhesh provinces. 


The Meteorological Forecasting Division (MFD) under the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has reported the presence of westerly winds and local winds influencing the weather patterns in Nepal.

As per the meteorological bulletin issued by the MFD at 6 am, light rain accompanied by thunder and lightning is observed in some areas of Koshi province, few areas of Madhesh province, and one or two areas of Bagmati province.


The forecast suggests partly to generally cloudy weather in the hilly regions, including Koshi and Madhesh provinces, with partly cloudy conditions prevailing in other parts of the country.


Similarly, there is a possibility of light rain with thunder/lightning at few places in Koshi province and one or two places in Madhesh, Bagmati and Gandaki provinces. According to the MFD, there is a possibility of light snowfall at one or two places in the high hills and mountainous areas of Koshi and Bagmati provinces.


Additionally, partial weather changes are expected tonight, with a chance of light rain accompanied by thunder and lightning in several hilly areas of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces.
