KATHMANDU, Nov 21: Samrat Basnet, the director of the movie 'Lakhe,' has revealed plans for a new cinematic venture titled 'Kangaroo.' The director shared that this upcoming film, presented by Rajib Gurung, known as 'Deepak Manange,' will span suspense, thriller, and comedy genres. Basnet's previous film, 'Lakhe,' was an action genre production.
'Kangaroo' will be a collaborative effort between Asap Entertainment, Fullmoon Motion Pictures, and Uttargaya Music and Films. The movie's producers are Prem Thapa and Dhan Bahadur Gurung, with co-producers Ronish Bahadur Basnet and Nishan Shrestha. Tika Bhandari and Santosh Adhikari (Australia) serve as executive producers, and Asap Entertainment (Australia) is the film's line producer. The film also involves collaboration with Laxmi Jewelers (UK).

Speaking about the film, Director Basnet remarked, "I made 'Lakhe' in the action genre. After this, I wanted to tell a different story. Therefore, for 'Kangaroo,' we have spent two years on the script. The audience will get to experience the film with a different flavor this time."
The production team has engaged in discussions with various actors for the film, and the final cast will be confirmed soon. The shooting for 'Kangaroo' is scheduled to commence in Falgun (mid-February to mid-March).
