Last rites of four crash victims performed

KATHMANDU, March 1 : Last rites of the four of the Taplejung helicopter crash were performed at Pashupati Aryaghat today afternoon according to their religion and culture.

KATHMANDU, March 1 : Last rites of the four of the Taplejung helicopter crash were performed at Pashupati Aryaghat today afternoon according to their religion and culture. 


The crash victims whose last rites were performed include Deputy Director General of Civil Aviation Authority Nepal, Birendra Prasad Shrestha, Undersecretary of the Office of Prime Minister and Council of Ministers, Yubraj Dahal, Captain Pravakar KC and Arjun Kumar Ghimire, security guard of Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Rabindra Adhikari, who was also killed in the crash.

Brother of victim Dahal, Devraj Dahal, lit Dahal's funeral pyre. Chief Secretary Lokdarshan Regmi, Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli's press advisor Dr Kundan Aryal, high ranking government officials, employees of the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal, officials of Nepal Army and general people among others were in attendance to pay tribute to the crash victims. 


Minister Adhikari's body has been transported to his home district Kaski for his last rites. 

Likewise, last rite of another victim Managing Director of Yeti Airlines, Aang Tshiring Sherpa would be performed on Sunday according to Buddhist religious tradition, said the family. 


Earlier, bodies of all seven crash victims were kept at Tundikhel for a tribute. A helicopter of Air Dynasty crashed at Darebhir of Taplejung district on February 27, killing all on board passengers and the pilot including Minister Adhikari.  RSS
