While most of the European and Western countries are battling the second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic, Nepal is currently witnessing an alarming outbreak.

Despite over four months’ lockdown, in the first and second phases, the government has been unable to curb the further spread of COVID-19. Kathmandu Valley, the federal capital of the country is turning into a new hotspot of COVID-19 which is witnessing more than 50 percent of total cases recorded daily across the country.

As the country is observing two of the biggest celebrations, Dashain and Tihar, transmission of COVID-19, already at an alarming rate, is feared to explode further as people visit their relatives and move from one place to another in huge humber during the festivals.

The government has already urged the general public to stay where they are and celebrate the festivals.
