Local products get top priority in Lumbni festival

Local products have been given special priority at Lumbini Tourism Promotion Industrial Fair and Agriculture Festival. In the ongoing festival is jointly organized by Industry Trade Organization Rupandehi, and Nepal Chamber of Commerce Kathmandu at Anchalpur of Bhairahawa.

One of the Stall Coordinator Ramchandra Regmi said that special discount has been offered to the stalls for promoting local products. Around 40 percent of total 400 stalls registered are of the local products, he shared. There are 60 stalls of agriculture, 100 stalls of small and cottage industry, 60 of women handicrafts and 50 of local garments to promote indigenous products.


Visitors attraction have been more drawn to 15 tourism hotspots showcased in the festival, said Narayan Prasad Bhandari, chairperson of the host organization. "We are exhibiting the photos reflecting brief introductions of the main tourism points of State-5 keeping in mind the Nepal government-announced Visit Nepal-2020 and state-government-announced Visit Lumbini Year 2076", he added. The festival that started on November 19 is expected to draw financial transaction of Rs 250 million. Around 300,000 visitors are anticipated to observe the festival.
