BUTWAL, April 6: The CPN (Maoist Center) has taken disciplinary action against two of its lawmakers of the Lumbini Province Assembly.

In Tuesday's assembly meeting, speaker of the Lumbini Province Assembly, Purna Bahadur Gharti shared that the positions of two Maoist Center lawmakers were left vacant, citing the party’s March 26 decision to suspend Dadhiram Neupane and Dinesh Panthi from the post of lawmakers.

Neupane, elected from Rupandehi 1 (B), and Panthi from Gulmi 2 (B) representing the Maoist Center  gave up their memberships and joined the CPN–UML as the latter’s central committee members.

Speaker Gharti shared in today’s meeting that the letters received from the CPN (MC)’s central office and Province Assembly’s parliamentary party office stated that the lawmakers duo had been dismissed from the party. Consequently, the position of two lawmakers lay vacant in the Lumbini Province Assembly.

Gharti also announced the prorogation of the House session effective from midnight today.
