KATHMANDU, August 24: Madhav Kumar Nepal said UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli is responsible for the split in the CPN-UML. Nepal accused Oli of being the reason for the party split while speaking at a meeting of the Central Committee of the CPN (Unified Socialist) held at Chandragiri Resort on Monday.
The meeting is set to pass the party’s statute, manifesto and political resolution named ‘Rules and the need for a new Communist Party for the revival of the communist movement’. The proposed CPN (Unified Socialist) party will have 17 office-bearers along with a 151-member central committee. Among the 17 office-bearers, the party will have one chairperson, seven vice-chairpersons and a general secretary, two deputy general secretaries and seven secretaries. There will also be 115 wholetime members and 36 alternate central members.

Nepal has already applied to the Election Commission for party registration. The Election Commission has invited the leaders for the verification of the new party on Wednesday.
