Minister Khadka meets regional leaders on sidelines of BIMSTEC

KATHMANDU, March 29: Minister for Foreign Affairs, Dr Narayan Khadka who is presently in Sri Lanka to attend the 18th Ministerial Meeting of the  Bay of Bengal Initiative for Multi–Sectoral, Technical and Economic Cooperation (BIMSTEC) remained busy throughout the day today in bilateral talks and meetings with his counterparts from several countries.

KATHMANDU, March 29: Minister for Foreign Affairs, Dr Narayan Khadka who is presently in Sri Lanka to attend the 18th Ministerial Meeting of the  Bay of Bengal Initiative for Multi–Sectoral, Technical and Economic Cooperation (BIMSTEC) remained busy throughout the day today in bilateral talks and meetings with his counterparts from several countries.  


His meeting with Indian Minister for External Affairs Subrahmanyam Jaishankar was followed by the meetings with Bangladesh’s Foreign Minister Dr AK Abdul Momen and Thailand’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Don Pramudwinai.

During the meetings, the regional leaders exchanged views on the matters of bilateral and mutual concerns. They discussed trade, investment and tourism promotion issues. 


Meanwhile, in his address to the BIMSTEC session, Minister Khadka stressed renewed resolution, collective commitments and concrete actions for the revival of BIMSTEC. He was of the view of exploring new ways to deal with the existing challenges and make BIMSTEC, a regional forum, more vibrant.
