Mobiles worth Rs 3.5 million confiscated

Nagdhunga, Jan 16: Nepal Police have confiscated 107 sets of mobile phones being imported while evading customs tax.


A team from Metropolitan City Police Sector Nagdhunga on Wednesday seized the cellular mobile sets from Kathmandu-bound buses (Na 6 Kha 1534) from Birgunj and (Na 7 Kha 7395) from Nepalgunj in course of security screening.

According to Metropolitan City Sector In-charge Police Inspector, Hemanta Thapa, the police team recovered illegally imported mobile sets worth amounting to Rs 3.5 million. He shared, "We recovered the sets being wrapped and hidden at the back of driver's seats".


The recovered sets were sent to Customs Office Sano Gaucharan for necessary investigation and action, police informed.
