KATHMANDU, May 31: A Nepal Airlines aircraft is flying to China today to bring COVID-19 vaccines provided by China on grant to Nepal. The chartered cargo flight to Beijing is scheduled to leave at 11:00 PM today (Monday).
In a phone conversation with President Bidya Devi Bhandari on Wednesday, her Chinese counterpart Xi Jinping announced a grant of 1 million doses of COVID-19 vaccine to Nepal.
NAC flying to China to bring vaccine today
According to NAC officials, if the weight is manageable the aircraft will bring home 800,000 doses of COVID vaccines. The return flight will touch down at Tribhuvan International Airport on Tuesday afternoon.
Earlier, the Chinese government had provided 800,000 doses of COVID-19 vaccine in a grant to Nepal.
