NAC Chairman Adhikari, who was mistreated by Tourism Minister Ale, demands security

KATHMANDU, June 18: Stating that Tourism Minister Prem Bahadur Ale has threatened to shoot and beat him, Chairman of Nepal Airlines Corporation (NAC), Yubaraj Adhikari has filed an application at the District Administration Office (DAO), Kathmandu, demanding security and protection of his life and property.

KATHMANDU, June 18: Stating that Tourism Minister Prem Bahadur Ale has threatened to shoot and beat him, Chairman of Nepal Airlines Corporation (NAC), Yubaraj Adhikari has filed an application at the District Administration Office (DAO), Kathmandu, demanding security and protection of his life and property.


Adhikari himself went to DAO Kathmandu on Friday and submitted a request demanding security after Minister Ale threatened his life. He has also lodged a complaint at the Metropolitan Police Range, Teku.

After a dispute over the recruitment of staff at NAC, Minister Ale and Chairman Adhikari had disputes several times before. Minister Ale had assaulted Adhikari over the phone and while he was present in his office. According to a ministry source, the dispute erupted after a person recommended by Minister Ale was not given a job.


Meanwhile, the National Employees Organization Nepal (NEON), the Central Committee of the Nepal Airlines Corporation (NAC) and the NAC Employees Union have issued separate statements demanding the government dismiss Minister Ale from his post.


In a statement, Shailendra Shah, senior vice-chairman of NEON, expressed his concern over the abusive remarks made by a person who is a government minister against the dignity and conduct of the post.
