National badminton championship to be held in Pokhara

POKHARA, July 22: The First Pushpalal Memorial National Badminton Championship is taking place from July 23 to 29 in Pokhara. The championship is organized to mark the 41st memorial day of the founding leader of the Nepal Communist Party (NCP) Pushpa Lal Shrestha.

POKHARA, July 22: The First Pushpalal Memorial National Badminton Championship is taking place from July 23 to 29 in Pokhara. The championship is organized to mark the 41st memorial day of the founding leader of the Nepal Communist Party (NCP) Pushpa Lal Shrestha.


The badminton championship is organized by NCP Kaski and Nepal National Commerce Association. The championship will include five events including the open, veterans and male doubles national event.

The players clinching the first, second and third positions in the national open category will bag cash prize of Rs 50 thousand, Rs 30 thousand and Rs 10 thousand respectively as well as shield, medal, certificates and prizes. Similarly, players coming out first, second and third in the Open Gandaki Level 45Plus category will get cash prize of Rs 30 thousand, 20 thousand and 10 thousand respectively along with shield, medal and certificates.


The players taking first, second and third position in the 55 Plus Veterans Open event will bag cash prize of Rs 20 thousand, Rs 15 thousand and Rs 10 thousand respectively as well as shield, medal, and certificates, the Championship Publicity Committee coordinator Laxman Neupane said. Two hundred and sixty players are expected to participate in the championship.
