KATHMANDU, April 4: A senior leader of the main opposition party, Nepali Congress (NC), Shekhar Koirala has asked Prime Minister KP Oli to immediately sack his IT consultant Asgar Ali as the latter has courted a serious controversy for his alleged involvement in removing of news content from a Kathmandu-based news website kathmandupress.com.
Dr Koirala urges NC leader and members to use their conscience...
Issuing a press statement Friday, Koirala expressed his serious objection to the breach by Shiran Technologies Pvt Ltd owned by Ali. “This is a sheer violation of freedom of press and expression. Therefore, the prime minister should sack him at the earliest to help the authorities concerned probe into the case and take stringent action against those involved.”
Koirala also said that the government should take the necessary step as Shiran Technologies has already admitted its involvement in the removal of the news report.
