KATHMANDU, Jan 24: Nepali Congress (NC) member of parliament (MP) Ramchandra Paudel has said that the country should be moved forward through national consensus for three reasons.
Speaking at the House of Representatives meeting on Tuesday, he said that due to the poor economic situation, geopolitical pressures and agendas such as the peace process, there should be a national consensus among all parties.
“When talking about national consensus, they say that we sought it for our own interests. But the country is in an uncomfortable situation," said MP Paudel.

Paudel said that the time has come for unity to protect the politics of integrity.
He said that there is a need for deep unity between the parties to improve the country's poor economic condition, geopolitical pressure, weak state of good governance and complete the rest of the peace process.
Stating that he has always been in favor of national consensus, he said that all political parties should be united as the country is still in a difficult situation. “There is a need for good governance in the country. Misrule is rampant now. We have decentralized the governance system, but corruption is deeply rooted”, leader Paudel said, “There is a situation where the corrupt can escape under the guise of one party. It is necessary for all parties to stand together to discourage it. Good governance requires unity.”
"I feel the lack of national leadership and self-confidence," he said, "Let's have national consensus." Let's revive political culture and let's all develop the country together.”
