KATHMANDU, Aug 1: Nepali Congress (NC) leader Sujata Koirala has argued that the country is in need of a national consensus government at this juncture of time.
In a press conference organized by the Nepal Press Union, Morang Chapter here today, leader Koirala pressed for the same in reference to the implementation of new constitution and holding all elections by mid-January, 2018.

Koirala further said that a national consensus government along with the CPN (UML) was necessary to make two third of majority in the parliament in bringing the new national statute into effect and to endorse proposals like constitution amendment through the parliament.
The former Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs were of the opinion that the new government should be allowed to function till its tenure else she argued that instability will plague the country if the new government is also toppled down.
Furthermore, Koirala said the new government should be active to implement the agreements signed by the KP-led government as well as to ensure the Chinese President's Nepal visit. RSS
