NC requests EC to start vote counting in Syangja-2 and Bajura

KATHMANDU, Nov 29: The Nepali Congress (NC) has urged the Election Commission (EC) to start the counting of votes in Syangja Constituency-2 and Bajura.

KATHMANDU, Nov 29: The Nepali Congress (NC) has urged the Election Commission (EC) to start the counting of votes in Syangja Constituency-2 and Bajura.


Senior Leader of the Nepali Congress, Ram Chandra Poudel, NC candidate Dhanraj Gurung, party leader Pradeep Poudel and others reached the EC On Tuesday and requested the election body to start the counting of votes in Syangja-2.

Similarly, the NC has also requested the Election Commission to start counting in Bajura. The NC leaders met Chief Election Commissioner Dinesh Kumar Thapalia and submitted a memorandum urging him to start the counting of votes.


After his meeting with the chief election commissioner, senior NC leader Ram Chandra Paudel said that the party has requested the commission to start counting the votes immediately. Senior leader Paudel insisted that no serious incident happened during the election and said that it was not right to form a probe committee. 


“The votes were cast according to the ballot papers prepared by the Election Commission in Syangja. The votes were cast by only those people whose names were in the voters’ list."


NC vice president Dhanraj Gurung said that the EC should start counting the votes as the Election Officer has also said that the election was not rigged and that no booths were captured.
