KATHMANDU, Jan 25: Puspha Kamal Dahal – who is leading a rival faction within the ruling Nepal Communist Party (NCP) – has said that the party will bring in the whole nation in upcoming protests against the dissolution of the House of Representatives (HoR).
Addressing party cadres of Province 2, Chairman Dahal said since the upcoming protests will determine the fate of dissolved parliament the party is planning to stage massive protests and demonstrations in coming days.
Minimal expectations
The faction has recently organized a mass gathering at the capital.
Our recent demonstrations and gathering has brought huge impacts over the rival faction’s move and upcoming events will even be more historical and grand, said Dahal.
The Dahal-Nepal faction of NCP announced the third phase of the agitation against the lower house dissolution on Monday. The faction announced to organize a whistle rally on January 26, a sit-in at Maitighar Mandala from January 26 to February 3, a public ceremony to pay homage to martyrs on January 29, a youth rally in Kathmandu on February 4 and a torch rally on February 8.
The party also announced to stage mass gatherings in Butwal, Pokhara and Dhangadhi on January 28, 29 and 30, respectively.
