NCP rival faction chairman Dahal confident that SC will reinstate parliament

KATHMANDU, Feb 23: Chairman of the rival faction of the Nepal Communist Party (NCP) Pushpa Kamal Dahal has expressed confidence that the Supreme Court will reinstate the dissolved House of Representatives (HoR), correcting the unconstitutional move taken by Prime Minister KP Oli.

KATHMANDU, Feb 23: Chairman of the rival faction of the Nepal Communist Party (NCP) Pushpa Kamal Dahal has expressed confidence that the Supreme Court will reinstate the dissolved House of Representatives (HoR), correcting the unconstitutional move taken by Prime Minister KP Oli.


Addressing the 20th Workers’ Sacrifice Day and Felicitation Program organized in the capital on Tuesday, Dahal said that they have high respect for any decision that the Supreme Court will take on the issue related to parliament dissolution case.

“We have full belief that all constitutional bodies including the Election Commission, Supreme Court will work in the letter and spirit of the constitution that was promulgated through the Constituent Assembly brought about by the strength of people’s war and people’s movement,” he said.


Dahal said that the hearing on the writ petitions filed against the dissolution of parliament is already over and the verdict is likely anytime soon. He expressed confidence that the unconstitutional and undemocratic move by Prime Minister Oli to dissolve parliament will be corrected and parliament will be reinstated.
