NCP Secretariat meeting issues directives to recommend name of candidates for by-election

KATHMANDU, Oct 16: The meeting of the ruling party, Nepal Communist Party's, Secretariat that recently concluded at Baluwatar has issued directives to its subordinate committees to recommend the names of candidates for the by-election.


The meeting held at Prime Minister's official residence at Baluwatar directed the subordinate committees to recommend three names each from the district committee and province committee by October 24 for the by-election to be held on November 30 this year, according to NCP Spokesperson Narayan Kaji Shrestha.

The NCP central committee will decide on the candidates to vie for the vacant posts in the House of Representatives and Province Assembly while subordinate committee will decide on the candidates for the post lying vacant at the local levels.


The meeting has nominated Astalaxmi Shakya, Bhanubhakta Dhakal and Hari Adhikari as members in the party's central organization department. Earlier, leader Bamdev Gautam was picked as the chief and Janardan Sharma as the deputy chief of the department.
