Nepal and Israel sign agreement on visa waiver for diplomatic passports holders

KATHMANDU, Aug 21: Nepal and Israel have signed an agreement on visa waiver for those holding diplomatic passports.


Ambassador of Nepal to Israel Anjan Shakya and Israeli Foreign Minister Gabi Ashkenazi signed an agreement to this effect at a special function held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Israel in Jerusalem. As per the new arrangement, diplomatic passport holders of Nepal and Israel can enter each other's countries for 90 days without obtaining a visa.

On the occasion, Ambassador Shakya suggested to the Israeli Foreign Minister to extend the training period of Nepali students from the current 11 months. 


She said that the training period for best students, who are currently in Israel under the Learn and Earn Project can be extended further so that they can gain additional knowledge expertise in their relevant fields.



Ambassador Shakya and the Israeli foreign minister also discussed the resumption of employment opportunities to Nepali youths in the caregiving sector.  The ambassador expressed hope that more Nepali people will be able to find jobs in Israel in the coming days.
