Nepal becomes second in SAFF U-20 Women's Championship football match

KATHMANDU, Feb 10: Nepal has become the runner-up in the SAFF U-20 Championship. In the final match held at the BSSS Mostafa Kamal Stadium in Dhaka on Thursday, Nepal lost to the home team Bangladesh 3-0.

KATHMANDU, Feb 10: Nepal has become the runner-up in the SAFF U-20 Championship. In the final match held at the BSSS Mostafa Kamal Stadium in Dhaka on Thursday, Nepal lost to the home team Bangladesh 3-0.


With this, Nepal has become the runner-up for the second time. In the first edition held in 2018, Nepal lost to Bangladesh in the final and became the runner-up.

Similarly, Nepal lost twice to Bangladesh in this edition. In the first match of the four-nation championship, Nepal lost to Bangladesh 3-1.


Bangladesh scored two goals in the first half and one goal in the second half in the final match on Thursday. In the 42nd minute, Saheda Akhtar Ripa took the lead.


In the first minute of injury time of the first half, captain Samsunnahar doubled the lead by scoring a goal. Similarly, Unoti Khatun scored for Bangladesh in the 87th minute.
