KATHMANDU, Oct 26: The Nepal-India Friendship Pashupati Dharmashala has not come into operation even one and half months since its inauguration.

Treasurer of the Pashupati Area Development Trust (PADT) Dr. Milan Kumar Thapa told RSS that the Dharmashala will be operated after the Nepal Academy of Tourism and Hotel Management (NATHM) submits a report on this.

Thapa said that NATHM report was due on October 28 and the guest house would be operated immediately after that.

The Government of India had provided an assistance of Rs 220 million for the construction of the Dharmashala which will have facilities of a ‘Three Star’ hotel. It is believed that the operation of the pilgrims guest house would help promote religious tourism as the visitors from India and other countries can avail of the ‘tour package’ visit.

The Dharmashala is constructed on 10 ropanis land to the south-west of the Tilganga Eye Hospital. It has 59 rooms and three inner courtyards. Four rooms are reserved for VIPs. The Dharmashala has accommodation facility for 400 people.
