KATHMANDU, Jan 21: Nepal recorded 10,703 new cases of COVID-19 on Friday along with 766 recoveries and three deaths, according to the latest information provided by the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP).
As many as 23,092 swab samples were tested for COVID-19 on the day. Of them, 8,815 PCR and 1,888 antigen tests turned out to be positive for the deadly virus.
Nepal records 6,462 cases on Friday, 3,791 in Valley alone
There are currently 65,603 active cases of COVID-19 across the country. Among them, 63,734 are in self-isolation, 1,640 in institutional isolation, 194 in ICUs, and 35 on ventilators. Similarly, 154 people are currently in quarantine facilities. So far, 11,635 people have died of viral infection across the country.
Meanwhile, the Kathmandu Valley alone recorded 5,299 cases of the virus on Friday. Of them, 4,279 were recorded in Kathmandu, 567 in Bhaktapur, and 453 in Lalitpur districts.
