KATHMANDU, Feb 9: Nepal recorded 2,401 new cases of COVID-19 on Wednesday along with 7,777 recoveries and 14 deaths, according to the latest information provided by the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP).
As many as 16,356 swab samples (including RDT antigen data received through SMS & Email) were tested for COVID-19 on the day. Of them, 1,851 PCR and 550 antigen tests turned out to be positive for the deadly virus.

There are currently 30,525 active cases of COVID-19 across the country. Among them, 29,117 are in self-isolation, 1,124 in institutional isolation, 242 in ICUs, and 42 on ventilators. Similarly, 133 people are currently in quarantine facilities. So far, 11,852 people have died of the viral infection across the country.
Meanwhile, the Kathmandu Valley alone recorded 1,017 cases of the virus on Monday. Of them, 890 were recorded in Kathmandu, 25 in Bhaktapur, and 102 in Lalitpur districts.
