KATHMANDU, March 9: Nepal recorded 224 new cases of COVID-19 along with 251 recoveries and zero deaths from the deadly virus on Wednesday, according to the information released by the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP).
As many as 10,092 swab samples were tested for COVID-19 on the day. Of them, 68 PCR and 156 antigen tests turned out to be positive for the deadly virus.

There are currently 5,736 active cases of COVID-19 across the country. Among them, 5,568 are in self-isolation, 124 in institutional isolation, 39 in ICU’s and five on ventilators. Similarly, 106 people are currently in quarantine facilities. So far, 11,934 people have died from the virus across the country.
Meanwhile, the Kathmandu Valley recorded 32 cases of COVID-19 on the same day. Of them, 29 cases were recorded in Kathmandu and three in Lalitpur district.
