KATHMANDU, March 22: Nepal recorded 44 new cases of COVID-19 along with 481 recoveries and one death from the deadly virus on Tuesday, according to the information released by the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP).
As many as 6,594 swab samples were tested for COVID-19 on the day. Of them, 35 PCR and nine antigen tests turned out to be positive for the virus.

There are currently 2,713 active cases of COVID-19 across the country. Among them, 2,637 are in self-isolation, 51 in institutional isolation, 23 in ICUs, and two on ventilators. Similarly, 106 people are currently in quarantine facilities. So far, 11,951 people have died from the virus across the country.
Meanwhile, the Kathmandu Valley recorded 13 cases of COVID-19 on the day. Of them, nine cases were recorded in Kathmandu, two in Bhaktapur district, and two in Lalitpur districts.
