Kathmandu, Morang and Rupandehi are among the districts to record more than 600 new cases of COVID-19
KATHMANDU, May 21: As many as 8,607 new cases of COVID-19 were recorded on Friday in Nepal while 7,890 others recovered at the same time.
The government also recorded 177 new cases of fatality lined with COVID-19 on Friday.

According to the latest data from the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP), 23,226 tests of COVID-19 were conducted on Friday alone. Of them, 8,607 tests results were positive.
With this, Nepal’s COVID-19 case tally now stands at 497,052 including 374,836 recoveries and 6,024 deaths.
There are currently 108,495 COVID-19 patients in home isolation, 7,697 in institutional isolation, 1,716 in ICUs and 511 on ventilators across the country.
Similarly, the Kathmandu Valley recorded 2,447 new cases of COVID-19 on Friday. Of them, 1,752 were detected in Kathmandu, 295 in Bhaktapur and 400 in Lalitpur districts.
Besides, 639 new cases were recorded in Morang, 672 in Rupandehi and 419 in Kailali districts at the same time.
