Nepal’s COVID-19 case tally reaches 263,193 with over 5,000 active cases

KATHMANDU, Jan 6: The total number of people infected with the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) has reached 263,193 with 409 new cases recorded on Wednesday.

KATHMANDU, Jan 6: The total number of people infected with the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) has reached 263,193 with 409 new cases recorded on Wednesday.


The Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP) conducted 6,706 sample tests in various laboratories across the country in the past one day. Among 409 people infected on Wednesday, 144 are females and 265 males.

As many as 256,161 people have recovered from the COVID-19 in Nepal so far.


Currently, a total of 1,608 persons staying in home isolation while 197 are receiving treatment at ICU and 30 are on ventilator support.


The virus has claimed the lives of 1,899 persons in Nepal as of Wednesday.
