6,951 new cases and 96 deaths recorded across the country
KATHMANDU, May 28: Nepal’s COVID-19 recovery rate is gradually increasing, with the country recording more cases of recoveries than new cases for the third consecutive day on Friday.
On Friday, the health ministry recorded as many as 9,841 cases of recoveries along with 6,951 new cases. With this, Nepal’s COVID-19 recovery rate stands at 78.1 percent which was continuously dropping a few days ago.

The country also witnessed 96 death cases related to COVID-19 on Friday.
According to the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP), 19,313 people underwent PCR tests and 797 underwent antigen tests on Friday.
There are currently 113,394 active cases of COVID-19 across the country. Of them, 105,444 are in home isolation, 7,950 in institutional isolation, 1,627 in ICUs and 450 on ventilators.
Likewise, the Kathmandu Valley recorded 2,324 new cases of COVID-19 on Friday. Of them, 1,796 were detected in Kathmandu, 213 in Bhaktapur and 315 in Lalitpur districts.
As many as 21 districts recorded more than 100 new cases of COVID-19 on Friday.
