Nepal to send 234 athletes for 19th Asian Games

KATHMANDU, July 28: Nepal has announced that it will send 234 athletes to participate in the 19th Asian Games, which are scheduled to be held in Hangzhou, China, from September 23 to October 8.

KATHMANDU, July 28: Nepal has announced that it will send 234 athletes to participate in the 19th Asian Games, which are scheduled to be held in Hangzhou, China, from September 23 to October 8.


The National Sports Council (NSC) said that Nepal will be competing in 29 different games during the prestigious sporting event.

According to NSC, they have received Rs 200 million in funding to support the athletes' participation in the games.


The group comprises athletes from various disciplines, including Table Tennis (6), Wrestling (4), Tennis (6), Shooting (2), Rafting and Canoeing (1), Golf (6), Athletics (8), Badminton (8), Swimming (4), Judo (8), Triathlon (4), Squash (6), Boxing (13), Wushu (12), Karate (8), Taekwondo (11), Archery (4), Cycling (2), Fencing (6), Weightlifting (4), Dance Sport (1), and Esports (5 - names to be finalized).


Moreover, the team will also include 22 players for Women's Football, 12 players each for Women's Kabaddi and Women's Handball, 12 players for Men's Rugby, 15 players for Men's Cricket, 4 players for Women's Basketball U-23 (3x3), 12 players for Women's Volleyball, and 12 players for Men's Volleyball.
