KATHMANDU, Dec 9: Nepal has bagged the bronze medal in men's T-20 cricket at the ongoing 13th South Asian Games.
In the match played at Tribhuwan University cricket ground, Kirtipur on Monday, Nepal defeated the Maldives by five wickets.

Earlier, Nepal invited the visiting team to bat first after winning the toss. The Maldives could score only 94 runs in 20 overs for the loss of 5 wickets. Leem Shafeeg and Mohamed Rishwan contributed 19 and 17 runs respectively for their team. Similarly, captain Mohamed Mahfooz scored 16 runs.
Nepal's Lalit Rajbanshi took 3 Maldivian wickets while Sushan Bhari and Paras Khadka claimed 2 and 1 wicket respectively.
Chasing the target, Nepal met the target in the 17th over for the loss of 5 wickets. For Nepal, Aarif Sheikh scored 33 runs followed by captain Gyanendra Malla's 22, Rohit Poudel's 15 and Pawan Sarraf's 10 runs. Former captain Paras Khadka scored only 3 runs. Umar Adam sent three Nepali batsmen to the pavilion.
Bangladesh U-23 and Sri Lanka U-23 will play for gold later this afternoon.
