Nepali swimmer Gaurika sets new national record

KATHMANDU, July 24:  Nepali swimmer Gaurika Singh has set a new national record in the 20th World Aquatic Championship 2023 being held in Fukuoka, Japan.

KATHMANDU, July 24:  Nepali swimmer Gaurika Singh has set a new national record in the 20th World Aquatic Championship 2023 being held in Fukuoka, Japan.


According to the Nepal Swimming Association, Gaurika, who has won 4 gold medals in the 13th SAG, has improved her own national record in the 100m backstroke with a time of 1 minute 6.80 seconds.

Gaurika's previous record was 1 minute 7.31 seconds at the 12th South Asian Games held in Guwahati, India.


Similarly, Nepali swimmer Nasir set a new record for the second day in a row.


On Monday, Nasir improved his own national record of 1 minute 58.23 seconds in 200 meters freestyle and set a new national record of 1 minute 57.26 seconds.


Earlier, he had improved his own record in 400 meters freestyle and set a new record on Sunday.
