KATHMANDU, March 11: The Nepali team has been compelled to relocate and play their joint FIFA World Cup and AFC Asian Cup qualifying match in the competing country following the deterioration of conditions at Dashrath Stadium.

The match against Bahrain, initially scheduled to take place at home, has been relocated to Bahrain due to substandard field conditions at Dashrath Stadium. The shift away from the home ground may potentially impact the outcome of the game.

After Bahrain, Nepal's opponent, expressed concerns regarding the field conditions at Dashrath Stadium, the AFC dispatched a representative to Nepal for assessment. Following the evaluation of the stadium grounds, the representative submitted a report indicating the unsuitability of the stadium ground, necessitating the relocation of the match to Bahrain.

"This match will now be hosted in Bahrain," stated Kiran Rai, General Secretary of the All Nepal Football Association (ANFA). He further added that, as per the assessment report provided by the AFC team, Bahrain is said to be the appropriate venue for the match.

The Nepali national football team had anticipated hosting this crucial match at their home ground as part of the joint FIFA World Cup and AFC Asian Cup qualifiers. However, due to the absence of suitable playing conditions, the match will now be held in Bahrain, the home ground of the competing country.

Originally scheduled for March 21 as part of the second round of qualifiers, the match against Bahrain will now be relocated. Nepal competes in Group H in the second round of qualifying matches, having previously played against the UAE and Yemen at Dashrath Stadium.

Now, Nepal is slated to play both matches against Bahrain in the Bahrain venue. ANFA has announced that the next home match against the UAE and the away match against Yemen will take place in June.
