Nepali U-20 women's football team leaves for Myanmar

KATHMANDU, June 4: The Nepali U-20 women's football team is leaving for Myanmar this evening (Sunday)  to participate in the second round of the AFC U-20 Women's Asian Cup qualifiers.

KATHMANDU, June 4: The Nepali U-20 women's football team is leaving for Myanmar this evening (Sunday)  to participate in the second round of the AFC U-20 Women's Asian Cup qualifiers.


Nepal is in Group ‘B’ in the second round of qualifiers along with the hosts Myanmar, China and Chinese Taipei. Nepal will play its first match against the hosts Myanmar on June 6.


Similarly, they will play against China on June 8 and Chinese Taipei on June 10.

After emerging as the winner of Group ‘B’ in the first round of qualifiers held in Palestine last March, Nepal entered the second round. In the first round, Nepal defeated Palestine and Northern Mariana Islands by 6-0. Nepal spent two months in a closed-camp training as preparation for the second round. 


All Nepal Football Association officials bade farewell to the team amid a programme on Sunday.

Goalkeepers: Kavita BK, Leela Joshi, Sabitri Kisan


Defenders: Sabina Chaudhary, Tulsa Bohra, Sunita Bhulan, Simran Rai, Divya Yasmali Magar, Pratiksha Chaudhary, Sajni Thokar, Kumari Tamang


Midfielders: Saraswati Hamal, Manmaya Damai, Sunkala Rai, Deepa Shahi (captain), Hima Rawat, Sushma Jiti, Anjali Machamasi, Sara Bajracharya


Forwards: Amisha Karki, Mamta Pun, Garima Rai, Sadipa Bholan
