KATHMANDU, August 18: Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse) on Thursday gained 27.56 points to close at 2,068.26 points.
The secondary market opened at 2,040.70 points and went to the day’s highest at 2,072.23 points. However, in the final trading hour, the index fell around four points to close for the day.

Along with the rise in the Nepse index, the daily turnover amount also rose to Rs 2.05 billion from Rs 1.40 billion on Wednesday. The sensitive index that measures the performance of blue chips companies also increased 5.41 points. All 13 trading groups also posted gains in their sub-indices.
In individual companies, Ridi Hydropower Development Company had the largest transaction of its shares worth Rs 104.35 million. Mandakini Hydropower Limited was the topmost gainer while NIBL Pragati Fund lost the biggest percent in its share price.
