KATHMANDU, August 9: Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse) on Tuesday plunged 43.35 points to close at 2,062.80 points.
The secondary market opened at 2,106.15 points and went to the day’s high to 2,107.87 points in the first one hour, before it went to a straight fall for the rest of the trading hours. The turnover amount was Rs 2.81 billion, slightly less than Rs 2.85 billion on Monday.

All 13 trading groups witnessed a fall in their indices. Microfinance, development bank, life insurance and non-life insurance, with a fall of three-digit points, were among the biggest losers.
Citizen Investment Trust had the largest transactions of its shares worth Rs 151.09 million. Ganapati Microfinance Bittiya Sanstha was the topmost loser while Himalayan Hydropower Limited was the biggest gainer of the day.
