KATHMANDU, Feb 27: Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse) on Sunday lost 7.73 points with a plunge in average shares prices of a majority of the listed companies except those related to hydropower.
While the government has started discussions on the US-funded Millenium Challenge Corporation (MCC) compact agreement in parliament, the stock prices of hydropower companies shot up 1.04 percent on average to close at 3,315.89 points. Apart from hydropower and ‘others’, the rest of 11 trading groups failed to attract the investors.

The market that opened at 2,661.44 points rose as high as 2,680.32 points before closing finally at 2,653.70 points. The single day turnover amount also declined to Rs 3.27 billion from Rs 4.29 billion.
Everest Insurance Company Limited Promoter Share was the top gainer while Himalayan General Insurance lost the most in their shares prices. Universal Power Company saw the largest turnover of its shares worth Rs 204.42 million.
